Canada BC/49 is a lottery game held in British Columbia, Canada and first published on January 29,1992. It is one of the games that is administered by the Interprovincial Lottery Company, a corporation of an alliance consisting of five regional or provincial lottery spread out all over Canada. This game is only available in British Columbia, Canada.
BC 49’s winning system is the same as the other lottery games found in Canada, but it differs only on the amount of the jackpot prize. In some other lotto games, the biggest jackpot prize is $ 1,000,000, while in BC 49 the jackpot price is up to $ 2,000,000. The prices of the tickets are also a bit different between one region to other regions. In this “49” game, tickets are sold for $ 1 for two lines at a time, while in the others, tickets are sold 50 cent per line. As the affiliate games so far have done about the winning jackpot, in BC 49, if nobody wins or claims the biggest jackpot, it will be used to raise the next biggest jackpot to draw. Winners must claim the reward within one year following the draw date.
In this game, a player is required to pick six numbers from a set of 49 numbers. If all of the picked numbers are matched with the winning numbers drawn in the game, so the player successfully wins the jackpot prize. Not only that, winners with other combination of numbers still deserve the prize, although the amount is not as much as the biggest one or the jackpot. In other words, all participants in the game will have the same opportunities to be awarded because there is always extra numbers to be chosen.
To participate in this lottery game, player must buy a $ 1 ticket. For some people it is considered a bit expensive, but actually some of the money will be returned to the player, it is about C $ 0,50 from each C $ raised.
The biggest prize as much as $ 2 millions is always fixed and the jackpot does not vary, while any other sum of prizes are predefined. As it has been done so far, there is some allocated money to be returned to the players, once the jackpot is set to $ 2 millions.
