Lottery players have done many great things this year. There have been big jackpots won throughout year 2012 and the winners have donated some of the money for some charity and other social events. In the state of Michigan, the lottery sales this year have reached $2.4 billion, giving it the best achievement. As the number has increased sharply, the fund paid to the education has also been boosted.

According to Scott Bowen, the Commissioner of The Michigan Lottery, until the end of the fiscal year of 2012, the amount of state school financial support paid by the lottery sales has increased up to $770 million. The fiscal year ended on the 30th September 2012 so there are possibilities that the donation will be bigger until December 2012.

Bowen added that the rapid increase might be caused by the existence of more game varieties. It is might also be enhanced by the publicity of several Michigander jackpot winners such as Donald Lawson from Lapeer, who scooped $337 million Powerball jackpot in August. The contribution of lottery sales to the education is unquestioned and it would be much bigger if the sales keep increasing.
