Australian Oz Lotto was introduced on February 26, 1994 and administered by Tattersall and Lottery West Companies. It was promoted as the first fully national lotto game and now it is claimed as the national lottery game and is played on Tuesday nights. Oz Lotto holds the records as the leading lotto game and the highest jackpot in Australia. Per standard game, the prize is $1.00 as the base which has never changed since it appeared for the first time.
Originally, this game was won by drawing six numbers with a range numbers from 1 to 45. Then, it was added to seven numbers on 18 October 2005. In the line with the change of the numbers, brand of Oz Lotto changes as well in many states. This is to emphasize the seventh ball added. In accordance with the introduction of the seventh number, a very poor and little of return for the high entry per ticket is run by Oz Lotto. While Oz Lotto is starting the jackpot of $2,000,000, the entry return is less than 40%. The largest prize is AUD$106 (US$109 million) which was won in the draw on June 30, 2009. The money from the lottery can cover the operating costs and some of them are distributed for social needs in the communities, such as donating the zoos, contributing finance for art projects and educational programs.
Players are considered to win the jackpot if they can match seven numbers from the regular guess set, ranging from number 1 to number 45. In Oz Lotto, there are seven prize categories and apply bonus for the secondary prizes. A player who is successfully able to guess 7/45 numbers, can win the Oz Lotto’s jackpot, regardless of the bonus numbers. Caps or taxes are not included here.
Statistically, there are a series of numbers which are most frequently to appear and the least frequently to appear. People who wish to win the game can search those numbers from the Oz Lotto website. By following the updates and learning from all lotteries, participants will likely be able to get the jackpots.
