The Wisconsin Lottery which consists of Mega Millions, Powerball, Megabucks, Supercash!, Hit 5, Badger 5, Pick 3 and Pick 4, is run by the government of Wisconsin. The popular one is Megabucks lotto game. The drawing of the game is held twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9.15 pm. The drawing of the winning numbers is done by using a lottery machine called Random Number Generator (RNG). This game was started to play in Wisconsin in June 1992.
To join the game, all players must buy a $ 1 ticket for two games. It means that players can play the game by selecting six numbers twice with only one ticket. Players need to pick or select six numbers out of some numbers ranging from 1 to 49. They can select the numbers directly when they purchase the tickets or the can select them using Quick Pick feature in the computer. Players will win the game jackpot if their numbers match with the numbers drawn from the lottery machine.
However, if there are players who can only match less than 6 numbers (5, 4 or even 3 numbers), they still deserve to be awarded with the less amount of cash prize. The main jackpot is usually started from $ 1 million and it will keep growing more and more if there is no jackpot winner in one draw. Then the cash prize will be added to the cash prize in the following draw. Sometimes, there are more than one winners of jackpot in one draw. Consequently, they must share the cash prize they get evenly. All cash prizes are taxable and the money goes to the government of Wisconsin to provide fund for education, people’s welfare and any other social projects in Wisconsin. The biggest main jackpot to win and hit the record is $ 23 million.
Winners can claim their prizes either by personal or by mail to the lottery retailer or the lottery office. Winning tickets must be saved well, because if they are lost, torn or damaged, winners cannot claim the prize they deserve to get. Although sometimes the lottery office can take care of losing or damaged tickets, the process will be quite long.
