Another great man from Taipei has just shown his deep concern to the education in the country. On Monday, 8th October 2012 a state-sponsored Public Lottery winner made a contribution of NT$10 million worth about US$341,500 to improve the education sector. 18 thousand people in Taipei will get the benefits from the money given by this anonymous donator.
The winner, who prefers to stay unknown, bought a ticket at a tea shop lottery stand in Taipei in mid July 2012. His number matched with the jackpot drawn on the 24th July and he scooped NT$654 million or US$22,334,100! Fantastic! He must have a big plan on what to do with his cash but he has surely done a great thing by donating some money for charity, a character that has to be developed among other lottery winners.
In a press conference without the winner, Mayor Hau Lung-pin really thanked the generous donator and said that the money will be used to aid the education for children from the poor family. He also added that they will perhaps be able to purchase3 buses and aid equipment to rehabilitate the citizens with physical and mental challenge.
