Playing the game
A player is expected to purchase his/her Bonus Match 5 play slip from any designated Lottery retailer. There are 9 game boards lettered A-I on each play slip with various prize tags. For $1, $2 $3, $4, $5 and $6, a player may play 1 board, 3 boards, 4 boards, 7 boards and 9 boards respectively.
- There are available numbers from 1 - 39 from which a player is expected to randomly select any 5.
- These numbers can be selected manually or through the lottery terminal electronically.
- The game allows drawing of bonus balls.
- After the initial selection of the 5 numbers, a bonus ball is then drawn from the remaining 34 available numbers.
- The essence of the bonus ball is to provide additional chance of winning the game.
- For every selected number, a vertical mark should be placed on each.
- Only pencil, blue or black ink is allowed for number marking.
- Errors should not be erased but the void box should be marked in order to proceed to the next one.
- A player can play same numbers several times consecutively if the “multi draw or number of draws” box is selected.
- A player also has the chance of playing a future draw ahead by marking the box "advance play".
- Players are expected to match selected numbers with expected winning numbers in order to win the game.
Winning the game
With the additional bonus ball, players have higher chances of winning the game. A player wins the game by matching 2-5 of the regular randomly selected 5 numbers. By correctly matching 2, 3, 4 or 5 of the numbers selected, a player wins the game. By playing the multi draw, if a player wins ahead of the final date on his/her ticket, he/she immediately catches his/her ticket.
Claiming the prize
Jackpot prizes are paid in annuity except the winner opts for cash payment which must be claimed within 60 days from the last draw date.
- Prizes within $600 can be claimed from any licensed Maryland Lottery retailer.
- Prizes of $5,000 and below can be claimed from Maryland Lottery location formerly known as Agent plus.
- Prizes of $25,000 or below can be claimed from Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Centers.
- Prizes above $25,000 can only be claimed from only Baltimore’s Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center.
- Winners with high prizes are advised to claim them from the Maryland lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
- Prizes above $5,000 will attract various federal and state tax laws.
