Originally, Match 6 ran from January 2004 to March 2009. For this run alone, there was a final jackpot of $900,000, which was won by a set of 6 numbers. The game was replaced by the revival of Super 7. The super 7 was abandoned as a result of poor sales in April 2010. However, Match 6 returned on June 1, 2010. Instead of its former Tuesday and Friday draw, it is now drawn on Monday and Thursday. Its average payout of 53 percent has also increased to 57.95 percent.
A lot of proceeds and interest have been acquired from the game. Between 2009 and 2010, about $3.065 billion were acquired as gross revenue. Out of this, $915.7 million was used for programs, $1.87 billion was spent on various prizes, $76.6 million was used in various operations and advertisement and $207 million was spent on vendor and retailer’s commission.
Playing the game
A player has the right to choose the number of Match 6 Lotto draws he/she wants to play. While bettors can play up to 26 drawings in increments, ordinary players can play three games at the rate of $2. A player can also play as many as 26 draws ahead. - A player has 18 numbers to play with for each play.
