The Virginia Million Dollar Money Ball is one of the best known Lotteries in the United States. It allows players two chances each week to win a million dollars. It is an online game that is easy to play for all ages.
History of Virginia Million Dollar Money Ball
The origin of the Virginia State Lottery dates back to 1612. At this time, the lottery was used to help raise funds for the poor in Jamestown Settlement. It was known as ‘The Great Virginia Lottery’, and it raised $29,000 for Virginia State. This funding helped establish the earliest universities in Virginia, alongwith the establishment of some religious houses and other educational facilities.
However, gambling was outlawed in the State of Virginia in 1849, and it didn’t come back until 1987, when the Virginia voters approved a lottery run by the government. The tickets went on sale in September the following year with the funds going to the Virginia General Fund. The main profit proceeded into the educational system.
Playing Virginia Million Dollar Money Ball
The game is played by participants buying a ticket at $2 each. The player then has to select 5 separate numbers from 1 to 35, or they can choose ‘Easy Pick’ which selects the numbers at random for them.
The draws are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays each week at 11.00pm. A gold Ball known as the ‘Money Ball’ is also put into the draw with the other numbers. If this ball is selected, another ball will be drawn to make a total of five numbers.
How to Claim your Winnings
In order to claim your winnings you must have signed the back of your Lotto Ticket which protects you and insures that it is the ticket you have won on.
The Virginia Lottery also allows their clients a new way to choose how to transfer their funds by Visa debit cards; as long as the funds are between $10 and $5,000, though no new funds can be put onto that card.
For prizes $600 or less, winners are allowed to go into a retailer to cash it in. This can often be done by check or mail order.
All winners must provide photo identification for any amount greater than $100
If the prize is greater than $600, the winners must contact the Virginia Lottery customer service to claim their winnings. This way of claiming also needs a valid identification and social security card as proof of identity.
If you are not a US resident, a green card is required and a form of identification such as Visa. Clients can claim through the mail by posting it to the head office whose address is mentioned on their website.
Prize winning tickets must be sent off before the time limit ends which is 180 days.

However, to win the grand prize it’s 2,337,350 to 1 which includes getting the Gold ball. 5 of 5 matching balls will give you £100,000, at the odds of 376,992 to 1. 4 of 5 balls will give you $100 at the odds of 2,164 to 1. To receive $10, you have to match 3 balls, of which you have the odds of 75 to 1, and 2 balls matching for $2 at the odds of 8 to 1.
